Has anyone tried the Eclectic capsules that are available at Whole Foods?

Re: Anyone Tried Eclectic Acai Capsules
Yes, and they're rubbish.
They've got something called Hypromellose in them which just doesn't sound good to me.

 Hypermellose?
Is hypermellose a real problem?
I saw them at $12.99 per pack, which just seems so much cheaper than anywhere else.

Re: Anyone Tried Eclectic Acai Capsules
They might be cheaper, but look at what you get: $12.99 for 50 x 400mg capsules of acai mixed with hypromellose (whatever it is). If you get a pack of acai berry pure, for example, then you're getting 120 x 500mg of the stuff. If you do the math you'll see it's not so good value.

 Hypromellose
Hypromellose is something that is used in food quite regularly. It is also used in tile adhesives! Basically in these cases it is used as a filler and it can also delay the absorbtion of the contents of the capsule into your system. Check out the wikipedia page for more detail.
